Cool your skin with this Cucumber Gel Mask

by Yasmine Mubarak

The summer is finally here and with the strong hot sun many of us become red, sensitive and even get sunburned.

Besides protecting our skin with sunscreen, we can also nourish the skin after being exposed to a warm day. During the spring, I have been trying the popular cucumber mask from Peter Thomas Roth - for the reason of trying to reduce redness and sensitivity. I quickly realised that this mask would be perfect for the summer weather.

The cucumber gel mask cools and refreshes your face after a long day, with its smooth gel texture. Its ingredient list of Aloe vera, chamomile and cucumber extract calms the skin, is anti-inflammatory and hydrates the skin. As well as orange and blueberry extract that is rich in antioxidants and Papaya which is rich in vitamins.

The 150 ml bottle takes you a long way, with a minimum of 10-15 applications - which is definitely worth it instead of a single -use sheet mask. You decide if you want a thin layer or more heavily and leave it on for 15-20 minutes of relaxation - before you wash it off with water. Or another advice I learned, you can use the mask as a night mask and sleep with it. Walking up fresh and less red and sensitive - which is great for summer days.
