Iittala celebrates Alvar Aalto's 125th birthday with a limited edition of 1000 numbered examples of the iconic Aalto glass vase in a stunning new color never seen before: gradient grey. Each vase is mouth-blown by hand in a wooden mold at the Iittala glassworks in Finland.
Each piece in the series is unique both in terms of shape details, coloring and, as Iittala's master glassblowers say, a true work of art.
The limited edition vase also features the more unusual size of 140 mm, which was part of the original Aalto vase series first shown at the Paris World Fair in 1937 and was in production from the 1930s to the 1960s and thereafter in some special editions . The new version is produced in only one thousand numbered copies.
