Yes, I wrote that headline - and I stand by it (so far).
Gisou by Negin Mirsalehi is the brand I am describing. They launched in 2015 by Dutch & Persian influencer, Negin Mirsalehi - when she decided to share her favorite homemade hair care secret: The Honey Infused Hair Oil.
Bee-lieve it or not, founded by an influencer, it’s actually a family company: growing from a bee-keeping family of 6 generations. In the brand description, we can read that Negin’s father learned to keep bees from his father, who succeeded his great-grandfather, and so on. As Negin’s mother, a hairdresser, wasn’t satisfied with the haircare products on the market, she started experimenting with her husband’s Mirsalehi Honey to create her own hair care goods. Now, the story continues with Negin - blending ingredients from the Mirsalehi Bee Garden.
‘’…a family company: growing from a bee-keeping family of 6 generations.’’
Their first product is still the best-seller, the Honey Infused Hair Oil. An exclusive oil
enriched with Mirsalehi Honey from the Mirsalehi Bee Garden. It’s formulated
to rebuild and repair the hair from the core - and so it does. It also contains a blend of minerals, vitamins, amino acids, and antioxidants.
The hair oil comes in two different sizes (not including the tiny travel size), I only had the opportunity to try the smaller (50 ml) since it costs around 46 dollars and the big size (100 ml) goes for 87 dollars. Yes yikes… But in conclusion, you learn to apply it with extra care - when you want the hair to feel more luxurious, smooth or want your hair to smell absolutely amazing. Because that it does, it makes your hair smell incredible - feminine and powerful.
The honey oil is a multipurpose product that can be used in various ways: I use it both as a pre-styling on damped hair - for my natural curls to feel nourished and extra shiny - but also if I feel that my hair is a bit dry between wash days. Which is actually my favorite way to apply it - to dry hair. Since then, I notice the difference instantly.
In conclusion, is this 46 dollars 50 ml bottle worth it? I don’t really want to say yes, encouraging these price points for that amount of product - but I have to say yes, totally worth it. Because I realized writing this article that my bottle is still standing in the bathroom cabinet - after 2 months being empty and my hair is crying.
